Blanca Ruth Casanova

Blanca Ruth was born on April 13th, 1960 in Mexico City, Mexico.

She studied Fine Arts (Plastic Arts) at the Instituto de Arte Bribiesca and Universidad de las Americas. Later, she studied Marketing Design at the Instituto de Mercadotecnia y Publicidad and Marketing and Graphic Design in Computer Systems at CETEC, got an MBA and Ph.D in Business and Educational Institutions Administration from Oxford, England.

She has taken various art courses and workshops in Mexico and the United States in Museums as the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.

As an expressionist and abstract expressionist fine artist, she counts with about thirteen solo exhibitions, more than seventy five group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States and Europe and has painted a mural. She has entered various international art contests around the world from the USA to Australia. Two of her artworks were auctioned at Museo Tamayo in Mexico City in 2002.

In 2006, she got the awards “Premio alla Critica” from the Gallery Owners and Art Critics from Italy on November at the Estense Castle in Ferrara, and an “Honour Mention” from Art Interview Magazine in London, England in June, appearing at the 2007 International Award Exhibition in Berlin, Germany on January.

Her works, statement and biography have appeared in books as “Masters of Today” published by World Art Media in 2007, as well as some interviews in prestigious newspapers and magazines in Mexico, London, Italy and New York as NY Arts Magazine and Art Journal in Europe.

She has given lectures, conferences and guided art workshops in Art Appreciation on Art History, Art Psychology, 20th Century Painting, Color and Form Psychology, Color Theory, Painters and Styles.

Blanca Ruth has worked as Creativity Instructor of the Psychology courses at the Gestalt Pychotherapy Center, and Alliance Francaise in Mexico.

She teaches Art Appreciation, Creativity, and Artistic Education to groups and institutions.
